Houston clobbered LSU 12-2 in the final game of the Baton Rouge Monday night. The game was the Cougars' second straight win over the Tigers and set up a Super Regional showdown against Texas this weekend at a site to be determined. Texas(41-19) beat Houston(48-16) at Minute Maid Park in the two schools' regular season meeting.
UPDATE: This weekend's Super Regional will be hosted by the University of Texas. The schedule of games is a follows:
Friday, June 6- 3 pm(Austin Time); Longhorns win, 4-2
Saturday, June 7- 1 pm(Austin Time); Longhorns win, 4-0

Cougars Live Another Day
The Houston Cougars overcame a 4-0 deficit after seven innings to drop LSU in Sunday's night (potential) Championship game of the Baton Rouge Regional. Houston scored four runs in the top of the eighth to tie the contest. They then tallied a run in the top of the 10th for their first lead of the game, and held on for a 5-4 victory.
The win forces the regional into a deciding contest Monday night at Alex Box Stadium. Houston(47-16) faces LSU(46-15-1) for the third time in the regional at 7 pm(Baton Rouge time).

Houston and Rice Win NCAA Openers
The Houston Cougars and Rice Owls both rallied late Friday night to win their opening games in the NCAA tournament.
In Baton Rouge, Houston won on a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Cougars knocked off Bryant 3-2. They will face Regional host LSU and Anthony Nola on Saturday night at 7 pm.
In Houston, Rice scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to come from behind and defeat George Mason, 7-2. George Mason had scored twice in the top of the eighth to take a 2-1 lead. Rice is scheduled to meet Texas for the fourth time this season Saturday night at 7 pm.

Watch the Owls or watch the Cougars? The Choice is Yours Friday
Rice and Houston's baseball teams are kicking off their NCAA Tournament appearances at the same time on Friday night, and both games are viewable online via ESPN 3. The Cougars and Owls are scheduled to play at 7 pm Houston time.
Houston will be in Baton Rouge where they will take on the Bryant Bulldogs from the Northeast Conference. Rice will host George Mason from the Atlantic 10 at Reckling Park.

Cougars Headed to Baton Rouge
The Houston Cougars baseball team will be headed to Baton Rouge for this weekend's NCAA Regional. The Cougars(44-15) are the #2 seed in the regional being held on LSU's campus.
Houston plays Northeast Conference Champion, Bryant Friday. The Bulldogs from Rhode Island are 42-14. LSU and Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana are the other two schools in the regional.
Houston's crosstown rival, Rice will face George Mason in the first game of the Houston regional at Reckling Park on Friday night. Rice and George Mason are joined by Texas and Texas A&M in the regional.

Cougars and Owls Headed to the Regionals
The Houston Cougars(44-15) and Rice Owls(41-18) won their respective conference tournaments and will be participating in the Regional round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament this weekend. Rice's Reckling Park will serve as a regional host between Friday and Monday(June 2). Houston will find out their assignment Monday morning at 11 am on ESPNU.

Rice defeated UT-San Antonio 11-5 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to claim the C-USA Tournament crown. The Owls have won that title six times.

More Top 25 College Baseball Coming to Houston This Weekend
Once again this weekend, two top 25 college baseball teams are slated to face off in Houston. This time the matchup is taking place at Cougar Field.
The University of Houston and the University of Central Florida will meet three times over the weekend in an American Athletic Conference series. Houston(31-12) is #16 in the latest Baseball America poll. Central Florida(28-16) is #23.
The first two games will take place at night- 6:30 p.m.(Houston time) Friday and Saturday. Sunday's afternoon finale begins at 1:00 p.m.

Top 10 Showdown Kicks Off at Cougar Field
Louisville dropped the University of Houston 4-2 Friday at Cougar Field in the first game of a three-game series between the two top 10 ranked programs. Houston(26-7) is ranked #7 nationally. Louisville(25-8) is #10.
The AAC showdown continues with a game on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. The concluding contest of the series will take place at noon on Sunday.

Good Baseball in Houston Area Tuesday...No April Fools!
Baseball fans in the Houston area have a couple of quality options Tuesday night. Three top 25 teams are scheduled to take the field within driving distance on April 1.
Houston(22-5) at Texas A&M(18-11)- 6:35 pm
Houston is rated #10 by Baseball America this week. Tuesday night is the only scheduled meeting between the two programs in 2014.
